FAQS
HOW MANY VISITS DOES MY CAT NEED IN A DAY?
I can visit as many times as you think that your cat needs but in general, most cats are happy with twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. My visits are usually 30 minutes in length. During this time, I will clean bowls, feed and put down fresh water, clean any mess, chanfe litter, brush, cuddle, fuss and play with your cat (according to their likes and dislikes! All surfaces and items touched will be cleaned and sanitised each time before I leave.
CAN YOU VISIT EVERY OTHER DAY WHEN I AM AWAY?
No, because the well being of your cat is my priority while it is in my care and more than 24 hours between visits could be too long if your cat becomes sick or if any other problems develop. For your peace of mind, and my own; I visit daily during the period of your booking.
WHAT SECURITY PRECAUTIONS DO YOU TAKE?
I do not want to advertise that you are away from home so I try to vary the time of my visits over the booked period. I will take in the post or anything left on the doorstep or in the letter box daily to minimise the appearance of a property being unoccupied. i close curtains and alternate lights on and off within different rooms on request. I can also put out your bins for emptying and bring them in again for you.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?
I have looked after cats for all of my life and have always had cats as family pets as well as looking after them when their owners are away. I could not imagine my life without cats and you can be assured that I will give your cat all the love and attention that they need whilst you are away
IF MY CAT NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET, WILL YOU TAKE THEM?
It’s obviously important that you let me know of any existing ailments or problems every time you go away. When booking for the first time I will ask you to sign a vet release form. This gives me authority, should the need arise to take your pet to a vet in the case of an emergency, It also authorises the vet to bill you on your return. I will always try to contact you first if I feel that your cat needs to see a vet but I will not wait unnecessarily if the welfare of the cat is at risk. My absolute priority will be the care and welfare of your cat.
CAN YOU LOOK AFTER MY KITTEN?
No, sorry. I firmly believe that a cat under 6 months of age should not be left with a cat sitter. At such a young age, problems can occur so quickly and young kittens are by their nature inquisitive and mischievous. If you have a very young kitten, please consider boarding them with a family member or close friend who can supervise them at all times
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Visits are usually 30 minutes in length and are £10 per visit for up to 2 cats. If your are making a booking for 3 or more cats, there will be an extra charge as it will naturally take longer to look after them. There will be a 25% booking fee due at the time of reservation and the balance will be due 14 days before the booking commences. If you need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible as late cancellations may attract a charge.
